All Change...

It's been more than a month since I was last here, unplanned, but much needed in the wider scheme of things.  I've been tired, a little drained, and completely lacking in sewjo since the Fat Quarterly Retreat, so rather than soldier on through it, I think I needed to not be here.

But now I'm back, not exactly full of beans, but back, and I need to get on with it.  I've always been a bit iffy with change, not all change, but the big life changers always have a strange impact on me, send me back into my shell, not wanting to talk to people, especially friends and family.  So I go a little quiet, and then I guess I process the change, figure it out, and get back on with it.

So, what's the big change you ask (or not if you don't really give a monkeys or have been on IG recently), it's the biggest kind (if my memory of last time is even slightly correct). In March of next year we will be adding this little person to our family (all things being well).
There may be trouble ahead...

It's exciting, and a bit daunting. Our daughter has just started school, and we'll be heading back into the lack of sleep, stinky nappy stage, all change, and back nearly 5 years.  Hopefully I will have the energy in the next few weeks and months to get back into the swing of sewing, and catch up with my already slightly late commitments, I think so, I just need a little focus.

Hopefully see you here again in less than another month...

Ange x

  3. Congratulations! My son and his wife just gave me an ultrasound picture of my first grandbaby, and he/she looks very much like yours! They have the same shadowy non-distinct features! Best wishes for all that's ahead.

  9. Ahhh, congratulations! I am the very same with the big life changers! I think I was even in denial that I was about to have a baby while I was being induced in hospital! At least your little one will be able to help you a bit. I think it's a nice age gap too - it's the same as my brother and I. Hope you feel a bit perkier soon.x

  20. Congratulations! I've just finished spending the day celebrating a year since our lives changed again after over four years. I won't lie to you, it's had it's challenges (mainly pnd) but every time I look at my little girls I smile and contemplate doing it again! (Madness I know! )

  21. Huge congratulations! Yes it does feel like going back to square 1 but we have a 4 year gap and it worked really well - older sibling can understand that a baby needs looking after and hopefully you won't get as many jealousy issues. Also baby will be highly entertained by his/her big sister! The school routine gets you out of the house and somehow kept me much more sane than first time round. Hope you are past the sicky stage - if so, get sewing now because there's going to be a big sewing gap coming up!! V excited for you x

  23. What great news, congratulations! I have 4 and a half year gaps (twice) and it worked great with the older one being that bit more independent. Enjoy now you've found a bit of mental balance again, hope you get back to sewing again, too.

  25. Congratulations! I'm not surprised you've felt the need of a bit of a break. I have 4.5 years between my second and third, which actually turned out to be a lovely gap as my elder two were big enough to be a bit more self-sufficient and enjoy helping, and having to walk to and from school gave so much more natural shape to the day (I struggled to get dressed in the morning for weeks first time around). Hope the school start is going well too!
