Drawing To A Close....

What seemed like a terminal case of homelessness is finally drawing to a close, and I for one could not be happier to move on, move in, and stop living out of boxes and carrier bags, really not fun when you can barely find your next pair of knickers!  We finally exchanged yesterday, and will be completing and moving in on Monday.  Our "stuff" will be joining us on Wednesday, so we will have 2 nights of sleeping on camp beds, and then the fun of unpacking will begin, yay!

Button Moon and a little quilting- very relaxing afternoon. X
I have managed to do a few bits and pieces over the last week, aside from the Hand Printed fabrics I showed you on Monday, I have been making the binding for my daughters Hexy quilt (above, whilst watching Button Moon episodes back to back with my little one).  I have hand embroidered some of the Alphabetty Hexys to spell out her name on the binding and a little one with the dates for making, as a reminder for her, as if I wont be labouring the point every time she's being ungrateful in the next few years!!
Hexy binding all cut and basted, now for the real sewing.

I have also basted this quilt AND whilst taking a little trip to The Sewing Cafe in Hinckley, started to actually quilt it, get me!  I don't think it will be finished before Saturday and in the quilt competition as planned, but I am edging ever closer, yay!

Finally basted but it needs to be quilted and bound by Saturday and in the post for arrival Monday. I'm not hopeful. X

Right, off to do a little blog reading, then I'm packing up the car for our little move over the border to Derbyshire, sunny Melbourne, until Monday.

  2. I'm impressed with your creativity in the midst of a move! And I'm also intrigued with the idea of a sewing cafe. What a great idea! I've never seen one over here. Are there many in the UK and are they busy? Happy unpacking!
